ABOUT THE TRIP

Ever wanted a taste for the heli experience but also highly love ski touring?  This trip explores Thompson Pass out of Valdez AK, skiing Couloirs, Peaks, and getting in a helicopter.  These helicopter rides will be a bump in the morning to a desired ski line or location.  After descending our prize line for the day, we execute the rest of our plan by adding on an objective while skiing back to a staged vehicle on Thompson Pass. We will utilize a local heli company for our two days of heli transfers to Thompson Pass.

We provide transportation for you from Anchorage to Valdez and our through out the entirety of our experience. Take a look at our trip inclusions and exclusions, under the Trip Cost tab, below.

This trip is a friend style laid back experience. With that being said we have lodging for you at Totem Hotel, downtown Valdez. We will get a warm taste for the Valdez local life as we taste dinner options around town and make friends with legends. This immersion into local ski life has all of us as curious as you, what an evening of stories could teach us about our perspectives.

Book airline reservations sooner vs later to secure the best rates to get to our starting point. Book your departure hotels if your flight does not leave on April 28 when we arrive back to anchorage on departure day. Everything else on this trip such as lodging in Valdez, transportation, dinners, and breakfasts will be included so you can focus on skiing.

The Itinerary for the trip is subject to change due to weather and logistics. It’s imperative to be flexible in AK and goes hand in hand with having a great time up North.

After this trip, you will make it back to work the following week with tired legs and minds at ease from an epic trip skiing on glaciers.

  • If you cancel before January 1st of the year you are scheduled to ski with Mindful Mountaineering, I will keep 25% of the cost of the trip and refund you the remainder of your deposit paid.  This 25% covers admin time and trip/life prep costs required to schedule the trip.

If you cancel after January 1st, I will keep the 50% deposit.  If you cancel with late notice, I will end up with a hole in my schedule. This is a disappointing situation for all involved. For this reason, I highly recommend travel insurance. If you are canceling for medical reasons or an emergency of some kind, you should be reimbursed.

If you cancel within 30-days of your trip, you may lose your entire payment. I will do my best to refund as much as possible, but many of the wheels will have been set in motion. If I am able to not pay for items (such as food and gas) I expected to buy, or some businesses (like hotels or car rental places) don't demand full payment, I will certainly refund this portion of your payment. I will do my best to work with you so you lose as little money as possible. At the same time, I ask that you understand that as a small, high-quality, operation, I am severely affected by cancellations. Again, trip insurance goes a long way toward alleviating financial stress in this situation.

No refunds will be given within 30 days of the trip, all sales are final.

No refunds will be given because of weather while in Alaska, once on the trip

LET’S DO THIS.
